Baby number three will be arriving soon! As of this Wednesday, I have exactly four weeks until my induction date, and that's if Baby S doesn't come before then. Since there is always that possibility that she could come sooner than later, it's time for me to make sure I'm all set for her arrival.
Over the last several weeks, I've been working on the Nursery. Once I have things 100% done, I'll make several posts on the different projects that I have completed to make my little girls room just perfect. But for now that will wait!
I spent most of this weekend in bed, as I woke up Friday morning not feeling all that well... which turned in to a doctor's visit and being told I should stay in bed and get some rest... and then turned in to a visit to the lab for blood work... and then home to bed! After sleeping in on Sunday morning until nearly 9:00 AM, and my husband deciding to take the boys to see a movie I started to think about how my bag was not packed for the Hospital. Since I was feeling a little better than I had since early last week, I decided perhaps I should gather some items I needed for my Hospital Suitcase.
Things I needed for my Hospital Bag are as follows:
*Two Nightgowns (I practically swim in Hospital gowns, and post birth I like to wear my own... and I don't regularly wear nightgowns!)
*Lightweight Robe (all I have is a massive spa-grade one, in white... not good for childbirth!)
*Nursing Tanks
*Nursing Bras
*Comfortable Underwear (because seriously, who wants to wear a thong after giving birth?)
So off to Target I went, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a great selection of items I needed on the Clearance Rack. The two nightgowns that I purchased (both chemise style) I purchased on sale for less than $7.00 each. A few weeks ago, I saw those same nightgowns at full price- so glad I didn't buy them then! I also found a nice lightweight cotton robe in a very dark gray "on special" to wear during visits or while combing the halls of the Hospital.
I also found another Nursing Tank on the Clearance Rack for $4.98, which is wonderful because for whatever reason Target carries fantastic Nursing tanks! I rounded out my visit with a Nursing Bra and some comfortable Underwear, all at very reasonable prices as well.
Upon returning home, it decided it was time to get my stuff ready in my suitcase. Of course, I also had to get the baby's going home outfit and other things set as well. Thus far, I have the following packed in my suitcase for my stay:
*Nightgowns (2)
*Nursing Bras (2)
*Nursing Tanks (2)
*Bathrobe
*Chenille Socks (with non-skid bottoms)
*Baby's Going Home Outfit
*Socks for Baby while in the Hospital
*Headbands for Baby S (a girl has gotta look good in her first pictures!)
*Aden+Anais Swaddling Blanket
*Flannel Receiving Blanket
*Snooze Time Swaddling Wrap
*Baby Daze Organizer
*Copy of my Pre-Admission forms to the Hospital (just in case)
*Copy of the Birth Certificate Questionnaire (again, just in case)
*Original Copy of my Advanced Medical Directive
*Copy of my Birth Plan
Still to Pack:
*Toiletries
*Maternity Outfit to go home in (I'm thinking leggings, long shirt, sandals, and a necklace to accessorize with because I'm that kind of girl)
*Hair Dryer, Flat Iron, and Brushes
*Laptop (forgot this last time... MUST NOT forget this time!)
*Cameras (we're bringing the Canon G10 and our Sony Handycam) and their chargers
*Small gift from Baby S to H & T (if she comes bearing gifts, she might be well received)
*Snacks for my husband that don't stink (I distinctly remember him eating French Onion Sun Chips during one of my births)
*Change of Shirt for my Husband
*Dr. Sears Baby Book (my copy of very worn out, but I prefer this book over others for quick-reference, and because I'm apparently a fan of a "radical" parenting style)
*My Birthing/Squat Ball and pump for it (I was a little weirded out about using the Hospital's last time, and the one at the Hospital was too big for me)
*iPod Shuffle, loaded with my relaxing-yet-motivational music
*My favorite Memory Foam Contoured Pillow that I seriously cannot sleep without
*A towel I don't care about, stashed away in the rear hatch of my car in case of a Midnight Surprise
*The Baby's Car Seat, installed in the car
Over the next few days, I'll be looking to get the majority of the items left to pack all squared away. With my induction date scheduled for August 25th, there is still a very good possibility that we could have a midnight surprise anytime over the next four weeks. And lets be honest, if I don't pack this stuff on my own I'm going to be upset if I don't get the correct items! Ahhhh... hormones!
