Sometimes it's a tough job being a blogger, getting invited to special events and being pampered. But that's exactly what I got to do on Sunday evening!
The Hyatt Regency of Huntington Beach threw a special event for a select few Orange County and Los Angeles Area Mom Bloggers to come and get pampered. I definitely wouldn't pass the opportunity up, given that the last time I went to a spa was when I only had ONE child.
This was something that I desperately needed. With my hectic and crazy life of being a mother, wife AND full-time working parent I hardly have time for myself. And it seems that when I try to make time for myself, I never really "unplug" from it all.
When we arrived at the Pacific Waters Spa, we were greeted with Sparkling Cider and Strawberries. I was a little thirsty, so mine didn't last very long. But it was delicious. We were then all assigned groups, and each group was asked to start out in a different part of the spa.
First up for me was "Spa Treatment You Can Do At Home." Never in my mind would I have thought that ground coffee, cocoa powder, and cocoa butter would make like THE BEST exfoliant ever for your arms, legs and feet... but those ingredients are a match made in heaven.
Secondly, we had a tour of the spa. My oh my, is this place GORGEOUS. Of course, I didn't want to carry around my Canon G10 and look like a Japanese tourist so my phone had to take all of the pictures.
Last but CERTAINLY not least were all of my treatments. For the event, we had the pleasure of experiencing a 15-Minute Facial, a 15-Minute Back, Neck and Shoulder Massage, and a 15-Minute Mini-Manicure. I'll be honest- I wanted to pay each one of those amazing women to do a full hour of each treatment. It's not every day (or even EVERY YEAR) that I get to go to the spa, and I didn't want the experience to end! It was SO GOOD.
We all ended the night at the Red Chair Lounge in the Hotel drinking Momtinis on-the-house, and talking about what a wonderful evening we all had. It was so great to get out and be with such wonderful women, and it was nice to be able to unplug from my reality, even if only for a few hours. At the end of the night I didn't want to go home, but I guess that all good things must come to an end. At least I was able to make some of the ladies laugh while I was there, which means I must have had a fabulous time as well!
