Preparing for Baby ~ Part 5

13. August 2010 — jen0r

I was starting to feel a bit guilty toward my second child because my hallway was graced with ADORABLE pictures of my first.

So I decided to be fair and not have pictures of anyone up in the hallway, so that in the future I didn't get the whole "Mommy, you aren't being fair" lecture. Well, at least not about those darn pictures!

What to do, what to do... didn't want to go out and purchase new artwork, yet I had great frames with matting inside of them that I wanted to use.

My solution? Framed fabric. And to spice it up a little and make it "cool" for the kids, I used iron-on transfer paper to make signs to point out which way you go if you are a boy or a girl (by the way, don't forget to reverse the text before printing!).

The "Girls" sign does not mean that I'm going for baby #4. Please, count me out. But lets be honest, I don't think that any little girls are going to want to hang out in the bedroom of my little boys. They get stinky while they sleep, and their closet is tiny. Baby S's room is a feminine haven with ample closet space. Score if you ask me! Besides, when I test printed the transfer part that just said "Girl," it didn't look right... definitely needed that "s" at the end!

Sure, I could have gone for a bit less of a June Cleaver look with the "wall art," but the kids think it's pretty cool in the meantime that they have a sign that says "Boys" that points to their room.

And if they think it's cool, I guess I think it's cool, too.
